RECENT EVENTS AT THE CEMETERY

May 28, 2010

A University of Denver group will be at the cemetery this Friday to perform Ground Penetrating Radar on the Cemetery. This will allow us to locate the unmarked graves in the cemetery in which there are plenty. They will start at 10 am and finish sometime in the afternoon. I will be there once again to coordinate the project. I will continue to add updates as the date gets nearer. I will also add a little photo album online for everyone to view our project photographs.

May 22, 2010

A group from the Arvada Historical Society will be out this Saturday, May 22nd, from 7:20 to around 1:00. This group will doing a preparation day for the Ground Penetrating Radar to be used on the cemetery. Restoration will also be done on the cemetery's ecological and historical states.
Restoration will include:
1. Digging up of Iris patches so as not to kill them.
2. Repair of several headstones
3. Trimming of grass in some areas
4. Cutting of all dead bushes at the top of the hill.
5. Marking out the areas in which the radar will scan the ground.

Please do not be alarmed by this presence in the cemetery. If anyone has questions about the cemetery or its plans, I will be at the cemetery tomorrow with this group.
